now i'm gonna testify

i discovered these albums wondering around the internet the other day.I never knew they existed. These are live shows played in front of a wildly enthusiastic screaming audience that capture the essence of what a 1960's soul party should be all about.I'd heard Geno Washington before but never like this.Sweat & energy just pours from these albums. No slick motown soul here this is the "real nitty gritty" & brings the party right into your listening space. These might be the best live albums i've ever heard. They are definitely the best live soul albums i've ever heard.Okay i know i'm overhyping them. But in all seriousness the only problem with these is that they are too short. What i have done is put the albums together & if you record the with no gap between the songs you'll have one 73 minute handclappin foot stompin funky butt hipsters flipsters fingerpoppin soul album by Geno Washington & the Ram Jam Band!!!!

These are great soul albums, I remember one of my mates at school had these and we wore them out listening to them. Covers mainly but their own interpretation and really great dance music. They did a third album called Sisters, Shifters and Finger Clicking Mamas in 1968 but their chart time was over. As a live act they were one of the best and are still gigging today. Rock on Geno.

Hi Captain Groovy,
What a shame you were only 6 or 7 years old when we were out there playing this stuff, you missed some GREAT gigs. Many thank's for you kind words about the band.
